Go, Team! RAH!!

I assume "Rah!" is a shortened version of "hurrah!" which, according to The Free Dictionary, is:

interj
, n
a cheer of joy or victory [probably from German hurra]
Anyone speak German? I think is is simply a noise of joy and excitement, like "woot". I have no idea what this word's origins are.

Anyway, we had School Spirit night at LOGOS this past Thursday and what a night it was! The Senior Highs started the evening with a game of croquet and the Middle Schoolers finished their night with a rousing game of four square and a game that really has no name but involves throwing balls across the room at "pins" made of water bottles anchored with pennies. The object is to knock all your opponent's pins over first. For the sake of time, I refer to it as "Bombardment" but is really a throw with all you might and hope you hit the bottle and oops, I hit the Table Parent walking through the room but it's okay because the ball is soft and squishy and what the heck is someone doing walking through the play space anyway?

The Middle Schoolers are on deck to participate in worship this Sunday and the High School is delivering the Scripture passage on the 26th using a mulitmedia presentation. Hopefully, we can get that posted to this blog later that week. Keep coming back!

Dinner was ginormous sandwiches and potato chips (like what you would eat at a school sporting event) and everyone trooped off for Bible Study after dinner. We have our very first staff meeting after worship this Sunday, so I am looking foward to hearing how this is going.

Oh, and on the way back home from LOGOS, I almost hit - or really - got hit by a bear. Yes, a bear!
What? I was just running into the road - can't blame me for scaring you into next week.

Once we all calmed down a bit, Meredith wanted to know why I had honked at the bear. I assured her my hands never left the steering wheel and the loud blaring sound she heard were the tires squealing on the pavement as I jammed on the brakes. As we continued on up the mountain, I had so much adrenaline running through my system that I was unnaturally aware of my knees.

Here are some pictures of School Spirit night and some video as well. Don't forget to visit our Facebook page for more pictures and video. Oh, and let me say - Russ Mehl is an awesome Dinner Dean!

Nancy Smith decorated the tables with ALL the school colors! Check out the Facebook page for other schools represented at dinner!
